Multi-Language Learner Program

The Oceanside Unified School District is committed to providing effective educational program options for multilingual learners that meet district and state standards for English competence and academic achievement.

At Ivey Ranch we are proud to offer our multilingual learners a Structured English Immersion Program (SEI).  Through the SEI Program students develop grade-level English skills while also having access to grade-level curriculum. Multilingual Learners receive English Language Development (ELD) as well as instruction in all content areas such as math, science, history and physical education. English Learners receive ELD from a certificated teacher until they meet our criteria to be reclassified as Fluent English Proficient. 

By using OUSD's English Learner Master Plan, district teachers, support staff, administrators, parents and board members can contribute to bringing a new level of quality and commitment to educating all of our students for the 21st century.

Each month we invite our community to participate in conversations regarding our EL programs.  You can attend our school-based meetings and/or those facilitated by our central office leadership.
